Lyle J. “Boots” Kraus

Lyle J. “Boots” Kraus passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV at the age of 88. He was born January 31, 1931 in New Ulm to August and Lucille Kraus. He attended St. Mary’s Grade School, graduating from New Ulm High School in 1949.

Lyle served in the Army for 2 years, stationed in Germany. He spent many years as a linotype operator in Watford City, ND. In 1969 he moved back to Minnesota, retiring from the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, then moving to Las Vegas where he could golf year round.

Lyle is survived by his brother Warren and wife Kathy, brother-in law Denis Warta, 11 nieces and nephews, including Diann and Dean Warta of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry Kraus and his sister Dorothy Warta.
