New Ulm Police

Received a two-vehicle crash report with no apparent injuries at 9:14 a.m., Thursday at 5th North and Jefferson Streets.

A 2015 Chevy Malibu driven by Leo A. Waibel was eastbound on 5th North Street when it collided with a 2007 Lincoln MKZ driven by Morgan L. Hirth, 28, Mankato, who failed to stop at a stop sign and yield, while southbound on Jefferson Street. Waibel wore a seat belt. It was not known if Hirth wore a seat belt.

Damage was moderate to severe to the driver’s side door of the Malibu and all four side air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Damage was moderate to the front end of the Lincoln.

Received a two-vehicle injury crash report at 1:36 p.m. Friday at 7th South Street and Broadway. A 2013 Ford Edge driven by Ramona Nelson, 74, 35412 511th Ave., Lafayette, was northbound on Broadway when it was rear-ended by a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Hunter E. Johnson, 17, 1621 N. Garden St., New Ulm. Johnson had arm pain and his passenger, Brooke Thedens, had stomach pain. It was unknown if seat belts were worn. Damage was severe to the rear end of the Ford Edge and severe to the front end of the Explorer.

Minnesota State Patrol, Mankato

Received a one-vehicle, rollover, injury crash report in wet conditions at 9:06 p.m. Thursday on Highway 60 in Watonwan County. A 2003 Volkswagon New Beetle driven by Faith E. Hansen, 19, Jackson, was westbound on Highway 60 when she lost control and rolled. She was transported to St. James Hospital. Vehicle damage was not reported.
