Isahi Prieto, 20, 2412 N. Broadway, New Ulm, was charged Friday with gross misdemeanor no insurance and misdemeanor driving after revocation. According to court documents, New Ulm Police notice Prieto while on routine patrol at 2:33 a.m., July 16. Police ran the vehicle’s registration and observed that it was registered to Prieto, who had his driver’s license status revoked. Police followed him into the Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot.

Prieto admitted to police that he knew his driving status was revoked and had no proof of insurance, but that he was insured through Progressive. Police contacted Progressive and was informed that insurance on the vehicle was suspended on June 30, 2016. Prieto has prior uninsured driver convictions on Feb. 17, 2015 and on May 5, 2015.
