New Ulm Police • Arrested a 62-year-old New Ulm man at 4:03 p.m. Feb. 28 on a Brown County warrant for not returning to jail. A report was done for documentation. • Took a report at 10:20 p.m. Feb. 28 of a 17-year-old New Ulm girl who ran away from home. Officers found the girl at a New Ulm residence. Police said the girl was not injured. A report for consideration of domestic assault of the 17-year-old went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office. New Ulm Police • Responded to a two-vehicle crash at Broadway and Center at 7:17 p.m. Thursday. A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven southbound on Broadway by Cole Christopher Alfred, 27, New Ulm, ran a red light and collided with a 2024 Ford Escape driven westbound on Center by Maria Elizabeth Schneeberg, 65, New Ulm. Schneeberg complained of pain but was not transported by ambulance. Damage was disabling to the front driver’s side of the Chevrolet and disabling to the front and driver’s side of the Ford. New Ulm Police • Responded to a one-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 3:14 p.m. at 7th Street South and Valley Street. Joan Rose Hillesheim, 78, New Ulm, was driving a 2021 Kia Telluride on Valley Street, left the road, hit a fire hydrant and mailbox, damaging them both. She wore a seatbelt. Vehicle damage was severe. • Responded to a report of a 17-year-old New Ulm male breaking items at a residence at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Officers noticed broken items at the scene. New Ulm Police • Responded to a report at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday of a suicidal 40-year-old New Ulm female who had a knife and suicidal thoughts. Officers located the women in Wal-Mart and had her exit the store. The women was calm, said she was doing much better and did not seek medical attention. Officers provided her available resources in the area. New Ulm Police • Received a two-car crash report at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday at 5th North and State Street. A 2008 car driven by Joseph Gillis, 18, New Ulm, was northbound on State St., stopped for a stop sign, pulled forward and was hit by a 2017 SUV driven westbound on 5th North by Peter Schletz, 42, New Ulm. The SUV was towed away with front end/side damage. The car had similar damage but was driven from the scene. Both drivers wore seat belts.
