A 2020 Honda Civic driven by Jasmine Angel Sparks, 26, Sleepy Eye, was westbound on Highway 14, slowed for a yellow light and noticed a vehicle approaching from behind, changed lanes to avoid being hit and sideswiped a 2025 Chevy van driven by Nicholas John Redmond, 45, Fridley. New Ulm Police • Responded to an assault report Monday involving two 11-year-old girls from New Ulm. The report included shoving and spitting. Scrapes were noticed on one of the girls’ arms. Officers asked both parents to attempt to handle the issue among themselves. A report was done for documentation. • Received a call from Mayo Health Systems, Mankato at 8:42 a.m. Monday about a homicidal comment left on voicemail to a provider from a 53-year-old New Ulm man. New Ulm Police • A 21-year-old New Ulm woman told police at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday that her ex-boyfriend, a 21-year-old New Ulm man is continually harassing her. The woman said she only wanted a report on file and not more law enforcement involvement at this time. The woman was advised of her options including applying for a harassment restraining order. Sibley County Sheriff’s Office • Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 8:31 p.m. Thursday on State Highway 5 near 441st Avenue, Dryden Township, about 2 miles east of Gaylord. Janessa Dalbec, 25, Arlington, was driving a 2011 Chevy Traverse eastbound on Highway 5 when she pulled into the turn lane to let a vehicle pass, attempted to re-enter the road and collided with 2010 Mazda 6 driven by an Arlington juvenile male.
