New Ulm Police • Responded to a two-vehicle crash on icy, snowy road conditions at 3:20 p.m. Thursday at Center Street and Summit Ave. A 2015 Chevy Malibu driven by a 17-year-old St. Peter male, was eastbound on Center, turning south on Summit when he lost control and collided with a 2026 Honda HRV driven northbound on Summit by Susan Huard, 63, New Ulm. Damage was moderate-functional to the driver’s side of both vehicles. A 2022 Kia Telluride driven by Sarah Jean Walters, 39, New Ulm and a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Megan Dawn Zabel, 34, New Ulm, were westbound on 5th Street North, stopped, attempting to turn right onto Garden Street at the same time when they collided. Damage was minor to the left front of the Kia and moderate to the right doors but not disabling to the Chevrolet. An account was flagged by a bank when a check came through with a check number nearly 60,000 over the previous check number. The check was made out to a female with an Azusa, CA address. The check amount was $2,500. A report was sent to investigators. • Responded to a domestic call at 12:28 p.m. where both parties separated prior to police arrival.
