New Ulm Police
•Took a theft report at 6:56 p.m. Friday at Wal-Mart in which an 18-year-old New Ulm man had five skip scanning events, totaling $225.51 in unpaid merchandise. The man stated all the events were not intentional. Report sent to the City Attorney for the consideration of theft charges.
•Police stopped a vehicle for speeding at 10:46 p.m. Friday, near 20th S. and Minnesota Street. The officer noticed impairment signs from both the driver and passenger, leading to a further investigation. The driver, a 52-year-old New Ulm man, was arrested for DWI. The passenger, 54-year-old New Ulm women was arrested for Apprehension and Detention order issued by her Brown County Probation Agent. Both individuals were transported to the Brown County Jail. Report sent to the City Attorney for the consideration of DWI charges and Brown County Probation.
•Policed stopped a vehicle at 11:56 p.m. Friday at 7th N. and German for an equipment violation. The officer noticed impairment signs from the 25-year-old female driver from New Ulm. She was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. Report sent to the City Attorney for the consideration of DWI charges.
•Police took a report at 5:15 p.m. Saturday on Valley Street from a 36-year-old New Ulm women who stated he ex-boyfriend, a 37-year-old New Ulm man, entered her home and took some items, including her dog. Report under investigation.
•Police stopped a vehicle at 10:51 p.m. Saturday at 6th S and Minnesota Street for erratic driving. Officers noticed signs of impairment from the driver, a 33-year-old man from New Ulm. He was arrested for DWI and transported to detox. Report sent to the City Attorney for the consideration of DWI charges.
•At 11:47 p.m. Saturday, police stopped a vehicle at 7th N. and German for driving conduct, which included crossing the center line. Signs of impairment were detected from the 39-year-old male driver from Courtland. He was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. Report sent to the City Attorney for the consideration of DWI charges.
•Police responded to a domestic call at 12:01 a.m. Sunday on N. Broadway involving violation of a harassment restraining order violation. A 36-year-old Hanska man was at his ex-girlfriend's house, a 34-year-old New Ulm women, which is a violation of the order. The man left once the women stated she was calling the police. Officers located the man riding a bike and placed him under arrest. He was transported to detox. Report sent to the County Attorney for consideration of an HRO violation and stalking charges as well as sent to DOC and Brown County Probation.
•Police received a vandalism call at 10:09 a. Sunday from N. Jefferson in which four tires were punctured. The complainant, a 17-year-old New Ulm boy stated he has some suspicion of who might be responsible but could not prove it. Report for documentation.
•At 10:45 a.m. Sunday, police spoke with a 67-year-old New Ulm women who stated she fell victim to a scam. The women stated her laptop froze up and an add with a phone number that appeared to be from Microsoft popped up. She contacted the number and allowed remote access into her computer. The scammer asked the women to log into her banking account online. Report for documentation.
•At 1:08 p.m. Sunday, police issued an attempt to locate order for an 18-year-old women from Bemidji who left a group home on foot. There is a court order for the woman to be at home.
•Police took a scam report at 3:25 a.m. Monday from a 49-year-old New Ulm man who stated he was exchanging nude photos with a female online. The female is now demanding he send her money who she is going to share all the phone he sent her to his friends. She is also claiming that she is underage and if he does not send the money, she will report him to the police. Report for documentation.
