New Ulm Police
• Reported a two-vehicle crash without injuries at Highland Avenue and 5th Street North at 7:33 a.m. Friday. A 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven southbound on Kimberly Ann Doust, 65, Winthrop, failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a westbound 2021 Audi S4 driven by Eli Jon Samuelson, 26, Sleepy Eye. Damage was severe to both vehicles. Samuelson wore a seat belt.
• Reported a two-vehicle crash with minor injuries at State Street and 10th North Street at 2:15 p.m. Thursday. A 2015 SUV driven northbound by Sheila Hall, 42, Madelia, collided with an eastbound 2014 Mazda driven by Roger Windschitl, 62, New Ulm who said he didn't see the SUV prior to the crash. Both drivers wore seat belts but had minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene with front end damage.
• Reported a two-vehicle crash without injuries at 1:43 p.m. Thursday at Oakwood Avenue and Hollywood Avenue. A 2008 Ford Fusion driven by Brian Thomas McArthur-Oothoudt, 29, St. Paul, was westbound on Oakwood, said he was distracted by a bee in the vehicle, veered to the south side of the road and collided with a legally parked 2010 Ford Taurus. Damage was severe both both vehicles.
• Received information at 5:04 a.m. Friday about a male burglarizing vehicles in the 800 block of South Washington Street. Police found the suspect, a 22-year-old New Ulm man nearby stumbling and appearing to be heavily intoxicated. Items including key fobs, loose change, vehicle owner’s manuals, earbuds, TV remotes, vapes, flashlights and other items were in the suspect’s possession before he was transported to detox. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of burglary, theft and vehicle tampering.
