New Ulm Police
• Met with a 16-year-old New Ulm boy and his mother at 8:22 p.m. Saturday who said they were being "blackmailed." The boy sent images of his face and private parts to an Instagram address and received information that unless be began making payments, the photos would be sent to his friends and family with Instagram accounts. The boy was advised not to make contact with the individual on Instagram. The boy and his mother said they did not send any funds to the scammer. The report is under investigation.
• Stopped a 22-year-old New Ulm male known not to possess a valid driver's license at 9:33 p.m. Saturday at CR 27 and Pfaender Dr. The male driver was cited for driving after revocation. A report was done for documentation.
• Stopped a vehicle for driving conduct at Broadway and 10th Street South at 12:17 a.m. Sunday. Impairment was detected on the driver, a 22-year-old Mankato male who was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney for consideration of second-degree DWI charges.
• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 1:10 a.m. at Broadway and 9th Street South. Impairment was detected from the driver, a 24-year-old Mankato male who was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney for third-degree DWI charge consideration.
• Took a theft report at Running's, 2107 N. Garden Street at 5 p.m. Sunday for a male stealing $1,386.48 worth of power tools. The suspect appeared to be a 28-year-old Waterville male, according to video footage. The report is under investigation.
• Took a bicycle theft report at 1:27 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of Franklin Street North. A 40-year-old New Ulm woman said her black Huffy mountain bike valued at $75 was stolen. A report was done for documentation.
• Took a skip scanning theft report of $50.98 worth of merchandise Monday at Walmart involving a 40-year-old Sleepy Eye woman. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney's Office.
