New Ulm Police
• Responded to the Brown County Jail at 3:23 p.m. Saturday for an uncooperative inmate, a 20-year-old Sleepy Eye male who was placed in a padded cell. No injuries or damage were reported. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a fight near Smiley’s Tavern, 425 State Street North at 1:23 a.m. Sunday. A 52-year-old New Ulm man allegedly punched a 48-year-old New Ulm man, causing substantial injuries. The man was transported by ambulance to New Ulm Medical Center. The suspect fled and was not located. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of felony third-degree assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges.
• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old New Ulm woman for erratic driving at State Street and 12th Street North at 5 p.m Sunday. The driver displayed impairment and was transported to detox. A report for consideration of third-degree DWI charges went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Received a juvenile trouble call at 6:27 p.m. Sunday. An 11-year-old New Ulm female was found walking near 10th Street South and Minnesota Street. She became uncooperative and aggressive toward police before she was transported home. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
• Stopped a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old New Ulm male at 10:21 p.m. near German Street and 3rd Street North. The driver was cited for open bottle and underage alcohol possession. A report was done for documentation.
• A 38-year-old New Ulm man reported at 11:35 a.m. Monday that his Social Security number was used to apply for a loan. He was unable to provide a loan amount. A report was done for documentation.
• A 37-year-old Lafayette woman reported the father of her three-year-old daughter who he left unsupervised at the Flandrau State Park pool, nearly drowned and had to be pulled from the water. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
