New Ulm Police

• Received a call about women throwing rocks at a man at a Highland Ave. North construction site at 3:37 p.m. Friday. A 34-year-old Clarkfield woman admitted throwing rocks at a man she said probably has cocaine in his possession. The suspect, a 48-year-old Madison Lake man learned the job site foreman contacted police about somebody throwing rocks at his worker, left the scene before police arrived. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report of a Walmart parking lot confrontation that became a road rage incident near Minnesota St. and 8th Street North at 10:08 p.m. Friday. An 18-year-old New Ulm male told police a 33-year-old New Ulm man threw a pop can at his vehicle, causing minor damage. A damage estimate was not available. A report is under investigation.

• Took a harassment report at 12:48 a.m. Saturday on the 600 block of North Broadway. A 41-year-old St. Peter man said he was being harassed by a 36-year-old St. James man, whom he has a protection order against that includes the St. Peter man’s girlfriend’s residence in New Ulm. The St. James man left the area after learning police were called, but later returned to the residence, then left the area again prior to police arrival. Police issued an attempt to locate for the arrest of the St. James man. Brown County Probation issued an apprehension and detention order for the man’s arrest.

• A 41-year-old New Ulm woman told police at 7:35 a.m. Saturday that one of her daughter’s friends, a 16-year-old New Ulm male damaged her garage on Payne St. North and wanted a police report filed. A report for reckless driving went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Responded to a burglary in progress report on 7th Street North at 6:14 a.m. Monday. Police learned a 62-year-old New Ulm were having a mental health crisis and there was no burglary. A 62-year-old New Ulm man was arrested for fifth-degree controlled substance possession and transported to the Brown County Evaluation Center. The controlled substance was seized by police.

• Responded to a report at 3:45 p.m. Monday on the 900 block, 6th Street North of a mother, her daughter and daughter’s friend that locked themselves in a bedroom to avoid the mother’s husband. Officers found a 50-year-old man in the front yard who denied anything was wrong in the residence. Officers entered the residence and found a 48-year-old New Ulm woman and two girls in a bedroom. The woman said her husband was served with divorce papers Monday before he became verbally abusive. The man agreed to leave the residence. A report was done for documentation.
