New Ulm Police
• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation and talked with the driver, a 46-year-old New Ulm man at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday at Payne St. and 1st Street South. The driver showed impairment signs and admitted to consuming alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of third-degree DWI charges.
• Responded to a report of a disturbance of an individual breaking a window at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday on German Street North. A 45-year-old New Ulm woman told police her partner, a 39-year-old New Ulm man, is experiencing a mental health crisis. The woman asked that the man get a behavioral health assessment but not be arrested. Police allowed the man to leave with a friend. A report went to Nicollet County Probation.
• Responded to detox at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Mankato Department of Public Safety with a 39-year-old Mankato patient they brought in that refused to follow detox rules. The man threatened officers and was placed in an isolation room. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to Linderhof Apartments for a vandalism report at 11:28 a.m. Wednesday. A 45-year-old New Ulm woman told police a substance was poured on her windshield and driver’s side door that appeared to cause damage. A report was done for documentation.
