New Ulm Police
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at Highway 14 and Jacobs Street. Gregory Ronald Hartmann, 63, Gibbon, was driving a 2004 Toyota on Highway 14, turned left onto Jacobs Street when he was struck on the passenger side by a 2010 Ford Flex driven westbound on Highway 14 by Leann Kay Stephens, 62, New Ulm. Damage was severe to both vehicles, disabling to the Ford. Both drivers wore seat belts.
Sibley County Sheriff’s Office
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 5:51 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Highway 5 and 226th Street, a mile northeast of Arlington. A 2017 Kia Sorrento driven by Erika Centeno, 27, Glencoe and a 2019 Nissan Altima, driven by Samantha Niepling, 31, Wilmington, N.C. were in a “rear-end” crash. Centeno was transported to a local hospital for apparent minor injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Arlington Ambulance and Fire Dept. assisted. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
• Following an investigation into illegal narcotics activity at Shamrock Apartments, 700 Chestnut St., Arlington, a 19-year-old Arlington man was arrested Tuesday for a felony third-degree controlled substance crime. Confiscated drugs included 289 grams of consumable THC products and 610 grams of raw marijuana plus $2,195 in U.S. currency. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Police, Arlington Police and the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office were part of the investigation and search warrant execution.
