New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at 8th North and Spring Street at 6:12 p.m. Friday. A 2019 Honda Pilot driven by Oralia Lozoya, 61, New Ulm, was westbound on 8th Street North when it was struck by a 2014 GMC Sierra driven southbound by Dennis Michescu, 18, New Ulm. Lozoya had head and neck injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Vehicle damage was moderate to the rear passenger side of the Honda and minor to the front of the GMC.

• Took a Walmart theft report at 6:56 p.m. Friday of skip scanning involving a 34-year-old Sleepy Eye man. From July 7 to Oct. 7, the man skip scanned items valued at $132.87. A report went to the City of New Ulm Attorney’s Office for theft charge consideration.

• Took a Walmart theft report at 7:36 p.m. Friday of ticketing switching and skip scanning involving a 32-year-old Sleepy Eye woman. From July 4 to Oct. 15, the woman has 15 transactions she ticket switched or skip scanned totaling $766.14. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for theft charge consideration.

• Two 15 inch Firestone Destination tires valued at $25 each were reported stolen form Heartland Tire, 1807 S. Broadway at 10:05 a.m. Monday. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested a 36-year-old Moorhead man on a Dept. of Corrections warrant at 11:34 a.m. Monday on the 1300 block, German St. S. The man was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the Minnesota Dept. of Corrections.

• Took a report of a storage shed theft at 12:30 p.m. Monday at 2000 N. Broadway. A lock, two Play Station games, a TV, kids’ toys and clothes with a total value of $1,000 were missing. A report was done for documentation.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a domestic call at 1:09 a.m. Saturday in Cobden involving a Cobden couple. No injuries reported. No more information was available.

• Received a theft report at 5:59 p.m. Saturday of copper wire taken from an abandoned farm in Burnstown Township. A report was done for documentation. No more information was available.

Renville County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a call at 6:34 a.m. Friday of two individuals who fell from scaffolding inside a storage tank at the Southern Mn Beet Sugar Coop, 2 miles northeast of Renville. Chance Anderson, 22, Adams, and Tedrick Coleman, 30, Baton Rouge, La. were working on top of scaffolding when it tipped over, causing them to fall 35-40 feet to the ground. Both men received medicare care at the scene by medical crews.

Tedrick was flown by LifeLink III to St. Cloud Hospital. Anderson was transported by Olivia Ambulance to Olivia Airport and flown to St. Cloud Hospital by LifeLink III. The Renville Fire Dept., Granite Falls Ambulance assisted. The accident is under investigation by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
