New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle cash at 2nd St. N. and Broadway at 12:06 p.m. Saturday. A 2000 Ford Econoline driven by Gordan Orran Batzlaff, 67, New Ulm, stopped to yield to traffic on Broadway when a 2008 Ford Escape driven by Lexi Rebecca Fluegge, 16, New Ulm, rear-ended the Econoline. Both drivers wore seat belts and were not injured. Damage was moderate to the rear of the Econoline and moderate disabling to the Escape.

• Responded to a three vehicle crash at Center and Broadway at 5:47 a.m. Monday. A 2014 GMC Sierra driven by Ruby Lopez, 36, Sleepy Eye, was turning right onto Broadway from Center to go south. A 2005 Ford driven by Kenneth Liebl, 63, Lafayette, went through the intersection of Center and Broadway, southbound, failing to stop for a red light, colliding with the GMC and a 2022 Nissan Frontier driven by Reece Boucher, 30, New Ulm, who was westbound on Center. No injuries reported. All drivers wore seat belts. Damage was severe disabling to the Ford and Nissan and moderate to the GMC.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 16 Street south and Valley at 1:25 p.m. Saturday. A 2016 Nissan Juke driven by Samantha Ann Mathews, 37, New Ulm, failed to stop at a railway stop sign and rear-ended a 2024 Ford F350 driven by Timothy Glen Storrs, 56, New Germany. Mathews had minor injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Damage was severe to the front end of the Nissan and moderate to the rear of the Ford.

• Responded to a domestic report on Spring St. N. at 11:04 p.m. Friday. A 37-year-old New Ulm man told police he and his sister’s fiance, a 33-year-old New Ulm man, got into a physical and verbal altercation. The 37-year-old man also got into a physical altercation with his sister’s fiance. The 37-year-old man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report for review of threats of violence and domestic assault was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office. The victim did not seek medical attention.

• Took a report at 4:10 a.m. Saturday of a possible OFP violation from her ex-boyfriend, a 48-year-old man, address unknown. The woman received text messages about children they have in common. A report for charge consideration went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Talked to a landlord at 2:40 p.m. Saturday about property stolen from his tenant on S. German St. The landlord, a 66-year-old New Ulm man, said he had an agreement with his tenant, a 23-year-old New Ulm woman, to store clothing in her apartment. The tenant was behind on rent and appeared to move out. The landlord said the apartment was in disarray and items, mostly clothing, were missing.

• Talked with a 32-year-old New Ulm woman who asked for a welfare check on a 32-year-old New Ulm man at 6:48 p.m. Saturday at New Ulm Mobile Village. The woman said the man may be suicidal. Police were not able to locate him. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a domestic report at 1:58 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block Valley St. N. between a 35-year-old New Ulm woman and a 35-year-old Princeton man. The woman said the man left and she didn’t know where he was going. Police noticed redness on the woman’s body. An attempt to locate was sent on the suspect. A 911 call was placed but the caller hung up the next morning. Police found the Princeton man, arrested him and took him to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for domestic assault by strangulation, domestic assault and interference with an emergency call. A report went to Brown County Probation and Human Services. The victim did not seek medical attention.

• Met with a 30-year-old New Ulm woman at 2:14 a.m. Sunday who said her ex-boyfriend, a 30-year-old New Ulm man, broke her door to enter her home. After a damage estimate is obtained, a report will go to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for charges.
