New Ulm Police
• Cited a 59-year-old New Ulm man for a city ordinance noise violation for loud music at a duplex.
• Took a Walmart theft report of $1,453.11 worth of merchandise skip scanned by a 64-year-old Mankato woman from April 11-August 11. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office. Video surveillance will be provided to police.
• Took a domestic assault report at 1:38 p.m. Monday at 217 Minnesota St. S. Police noticed injuries on a 34-year-old New Ulm man and a 42-year-old New Ulm woman. A report went to the city attorney’s office.
• Took a report of $120 worth of brass stolen from New Ulm Steel & Recycling at 10:21 a.m. Monday. Video surveillance showed suspected entering the property at 11:49 p.m. Saturday and exiting at 11:52 p.m. Saturday. The report is under investigation.
• Responded to a report of a suicidal 70-year-old New Ulm man near the garage of his residence. Police convinced the man to be transported to the New Ulm Medical Center Emergency Dept. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
• Took a dog bite report from a 76-year-old old New Ulm woman at 6:10 a.m. Monday near 13th St. N. and Payne St. Police photographed puncture wounds on the woman’s hand. A 46-year-old New Ulm man who lives nearby and owns a pitbull said his dog was not outside Monday morning. A report went to animal control.
• Arrested a 37-year-old New Ulm man on West St. at 8:51 p.m. Sunday, cited him for domestic assault and transported him to detox. A 35-year-old New Ulm woman said she and her son, a 20-year-old, were pushed by her husband before he left the residence. Reports went to the city attorney’s-office. Brown County Human Services and the Committee Against Domestic Abuse (CADA).
• Took a cruelty to animal report from a 25-year-old Bismarck, N.D. woman who said her 21-year-old boyfriend, who now lives in Plainfield, Il., assaulted her cat when they lived in New Ulm. The woman said she wants to pursue criminal charges.
• Noticed a vehicle with illegal window tint at 11 a.m. Saturday. Checking the license plate, police learned an arrest warrant is out for the registered owner. Police cited a passenger, a 19-year-old New Ulm man for possession of an open cannabis package in a motor vehicle. The driver, a 21-year-old New Ulm woman was cited for the same offense. Reports went to the Minnesota Dept. of Corrections and Brown County Probation.
Sibley County Sheriffs’ Office
• Responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury crash on TH 5 and 13th St. E. in Gaylord. Asael Pedraza, 19, Arlington, was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra eastbound on TH 5 when he collided with the rear bumper of a semi trailer driven eastbound by Steven Isaacson, 36, South Haven. Damage was minor to the car and very minimal to the trailer.
