New Ulm Police

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at Broadway and 12th Street South at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday. Officers detected a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle. The driver, a 31-year-old Sleepy Eye man was cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance. The passenger, a 22-year-old New Ulm woman, was cited for an open cannabis package in a motor vehicle. A report was sent to the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Sleepy Eye man known to not possess a valid driver’s license at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday at Highway 14 and Garden Street North. The driver was cited for driving after revocation. Due to extensive history of his not paying earlier citations, the man was transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to Brown County Probation and the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

• Responded to a theft report at 1100 16th Street North at 9:41 p.m. Wednesday. A 36-year-old New Ulm woman said her mail was being stolen and appeared to suffer from mental illness. A report went to Brown County Human Services.

• Cash Wise Foods, 1220 Westridge Road reported a theft at 11:50 p.m. Thursday. A 75-year old Sleepy Eye man was cited for stealing seven store items valued at $99.64. No no trespass order at Cash Wise was issued.

• Responded to a disturbance call on the 1100 block of South Valley St. at 7:09 p.m. Friday. A 44-year-old North Mankato man was issued a trespass notice for a child custody exchange disagreement involving a 55-year-old New Ulm woman. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested a 52-year-old New Ulm man for disorderly conduct after he was found passed out in landscaping around the New Ulm Public Library on Broadway. The man was taken to New Ulm Medical Center, cleared and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

Sleepy Eye Police

• Received a theft report from an individual on Main Street East at 9:45 a.m. Friday who said he was missing blank checks. No forced entry was found. A report was done for documentation.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash reported at 10:49 p.m. Thursday between CSAH 24 and CSAH 1, Redwood County. A 2014 Nissan driven by Sokhom Toek, 72, was observed rearing-ending a tractor driven by John Dean Swigart, 33 while both vehicles were westbound. Sokhom was transported by ambulance for possible injuries. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Lower Sioux Police and the Minnesota State Patrol. The crash is under investigation.
