New Ulm Police

• Received an assault report at 10:17 p.m. Sunday at Burger King, 1922 S. Broadway. A 36-year-old Sleepy Eye woman working at Burger King said she took food to a customer outside the business and was hit five or six times by what she thought was a BB gun. The suspect vehicle, a light-colored, 4-door sedan left the scene at high speed. The woman refused medical attention. Police are working on surveillance photos of the suspect vehicle.

• Received a suspicious activity report at Verizon Wireless, 1609 S. Broadway St. at 10:42 a.m. Monday. The suspect, a 39-year-old Crookston man, had a Polk County arrest warrant. He resisted arrest and was tased, arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. Possible charges include giving a false name to a police officer, obstructing the legal process, fifth-degree drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession. Officers were not injured but their sunglasses were damaged and pants were torn. Reports were sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office and Polk County Probation.

• Received a two-vehicle crash report on TH 4 and Renville CR 4, Martinsburg Township at 12:20 p.m. March 6. Mindi J. Hanson, 47, Litchfield was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer northbound on CR 4 when she collided with Lynn C. Jewett, 45, Excelsior, who was driving a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country westbound on CR 4. Hanson had non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the Ford Explorer, Kendall Schultz, 15, Excelsior, and Jewett were not injured. All three individuals wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office and Hector Fire Dept. and Ambulance assisted.
