New director at NUMAS welcomed by chamber
Submitted photo
NUMAS Haus’s new executive director, Nicole Schmiesing, was recently welcomed by the Chamber’s Willkommen Committee. Schmiesing has a strong background in human services, civil support and juveniles. She is looking forward to helping more Brown County area women and children in need and seeing them succeed. NUMAS Haus families can stay at their emergency shelter for up to 90 days, which gives them time and support to get back on their feet. NUMAS Haus has a high success rate of over 70%. Its annual fundraising event is on Sept. 24. It is looking for volunteers to do yard work, painting, child care, folding and other chores to prepare for the event. Donations are never expected but always welcomed and appreciated. Contact NUMAS Haus at 507-359-2202 or online at numashaus.org to learn more.
