Winthrop Area Clinic expanding hours and adding new provider

Andrew Dickinson, MD

WINTHROP — Allina Health announces that the Winthrop Area Clinic has expanded its hours to include Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 7. They will now be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic was previously open Wednesdays, but the hours had become limited due to COVID restrictions.

In addition, Andrew Dickinson, MD is joining the team and offering health care services at Winthrop Area Clinic. Dr. Dickinson specializes in family medicine and emergency medicine. A native of Lafayette, Dr. Dickinson earned his undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He went on to complete his doctorate at the University of Minnesota Medical School and then returned to Mankato for a residency through the University of Minnesota Family Medicine Residency program.

“Family medicine is one of the only specialties where you can see a variety of patients from babies to the elderly and develop meaningful longitudinal relationships with them,” he said. “I am driven by the bonds that I build with my patients, and I enjoy keeping them healthy.”

Dr. Dickinson and his wife Kayla have two children, Livia and Brooks. He is currently a physician at New Ulm Medical Center, and is expanding his outreach services to provide care at Winthrop Area Clinic on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Current Winthrop Area Clinic providers Michelle Owens, NP (nurse practitioner) and Sara Kanuch, NP will see patients on the alternate Wednesdays.
