Otis named to Twin Cities Business Magazine Hall of Fame

NEW ULM — Bill Otis, former CEO of Nuvera, is one of five Minnesota industry leaders named to Twin Cities Business magazine’s Minnesota Business Hall of Fame in 2020.

All five inductees are being recognized for accomplishments in their respective industries, as well as their contributions to the business community. They join an elite list of Hall of Fame members inducted over the past 21 years and represent some of the brightest business minds in Minnesota.

Otis retired from Nuvera at the end of 2019 after 40 years with the company. Otis joined New Ulm Rural Telephone as Controller in 1979. Five years later, he was named General Manager. His position transitioned to the company’s first Chief Executive Officer, and he held that role until his retirement. After a series of name changes, the company was rebranded to Nuvera in 2018.

Other inductees this year include: Al Hodnik, Executive Chairman of the Board, ALLETE; Monica Nassif, Founder and Former CEO, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day; George Sherman, President and CEO, Sherman Associates; and Kathryn H. Tunheim, Principal and CEO, Tunheim.

This year’s honorees will be featured in the July issue of Twin Cities Business and recognized at an awards event on July 27 at McNamara Alumni Center. Details at tcbmag.com/events.
