The 12th Annual New Ulm Diabetes Walk will take place at Flandrau State Park on Saturday, October 3.
This is a Strides, Lions for Diabetes Awareness Event and is a collaboration of the Lions Club of New Ulm and the Lafayette Area Lions Club. The walk is approximately a half mile long on Flandrau’s beautiful trails. Free admission to the park is included. Children, pets and strollers are welcome to this family friendly event. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The Walk takes place at 9-10:30 a.m. Group picture at 9am. This is a Fund Raiser for the Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation, who is working with the University of Minnesota to find a cure for Diabetes. A Diabetic Nurse Practitioner will be there to answer any questions you may have. Snack bars, Fruit, Coffee and Water will be provided. Free Will donation will be accepted at the event. Check can be made out to the “Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation” and mailed to Lion Bob Schirlinger, 801 N Payne St., New Ulm, MN 56073.
