ST. LOUIS PARK -- On Friday, Kris Manderfeld, retired Utilities Director of New Ulm Public Utilities, has been recognized with MMUA's 2026 Honorary Lifetime Membership Award.
The award honors individuals whose professional careers have been dedicated to advancing Minnesota's municipal utility industry.
Manderfeld spent 32 years with New Ulm Public Utilities and served in several leadership positions before becoming utilities director in 2019. During her career, she oversaw financial operations for electric, natural gas, water, wastewater, and district energy services.
She was recognized for her commitment to public service, workforce development, and preserving institutional knowledge for future utility professionals.
"Our award recipients embody the very best of public service. Their contributions strengthen community-owned utilities and enrich the communities they serve," said MMUA CEO Karleen Kos.
