2 min read

New Ulm Public Schools will celebrate Homecoming 2026 with a community Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, September 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Ulm High School.

The event is a collaboration between the ISD 88 Foundation, New Ulm Fine Arts Booster Club and New Ulm Eagles Athletics Booster, bringing together students, families, alumni and community members to celebrate New Ulm Eagle pride.

The tailgate will offer activities for all ages, including ring toss, face painting and music. The event is free to attend, although tickets will need to be purchased separately for those planning to attend the Homecoming football game.

A parade will take place along Oak Street from 5 to 5:30 p.m., giving the community an opportunity to kick off the evening by cheering on the Eagles.

Food will be available for purchase from Hy-Vee, with a bratwurst or hamburger meal including chips, a cookie and a pop or water available for $7. The Reve Coffee Truck will also be on-site with beverages available for purchase.

During halftime of the Homecoming football game, four individuals will be honored as part of the New Ulm High School Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees are Tom Macho, Leo Traurig, Leslie Dirks and Ron Bolduan. Short biographies highlighting each inductee will be read during the halftime ceremony.

The Homecoming Tailgate is an opportunity for the entire community to come together, celebrate New Ulm students and alumni, and show support for New Ulm Eagles activities.

Community members are encouraged to attend the tailgate, enjoy the activities and food, and stay for the Homecoming football game.
