•German Park Summer Concerts provide live performances by local talent every Thursday night in German Park. August 12 will feature entertainment by Chris and Chris, who play country; old, new and more. Concerts are free and possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

•Fall Garage Sale Registration opens August 6 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Civic Center and the SouthPoint Recreation and Wellness Center after. The Garage Sales will be held September 19.
•Hermann 5k Run/walk and Kids Obstacle Course will take place Saturday, September 12. The run starts at 9 a.m. and obstacle course at 10 a.m., all at Harman Park. Early bird pricing is available now through August 12. Register online at newulmmn.gov
•Special Rec on the Go at Jefferson Elementary School Tuesday, August 18, both from 1 to 2:30 p.m. We will have a gaga ball pit and the bounce house set up, along with kanjam, bucket golf, cornhole, color pages and more. Join us for this free and open to the public special event for a fun time! Event brought to you by Park and Rec and New Ulm Community Education.

•North Park Splash Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through September 7.
•Wading Pools Open daily from 12:30 to 6 p.m. through August 16. The spray and toys at Washington Park need to remain off for the remainder of the summer due to mechanical problems.
