Hot Topics: understanding proposed water & wastewater rates

NEW ULM – The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce and New Ulm Public Utilities invite community members and business leaders to attend the next Hot Topics presentation, Understanding Proposed Water & Wastewater Rates, on Tuesday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the New Ulm Civic Center, 1212 N Franklin St, Room 203.

New Ulm Public Utilities Director Brett Fleck will provide an overview of the proposed water and wastewater rate adjustments, explain the factors driving the recommendation, and discuss how the proposed changes would support the long-term reliability and sustainability of New Ulm’s water and wastewater systems. The presentation will cover why rate increases are being proposed, aging infrastructure and future system needs, regulatory requirements and rising operating costs, the proposed implementation timeline, and will include an opportunity for questions and answers.

Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, or simply interested in learning more about New Ulm’s utility system, this presentation offers an opportunity to hear directly from Public Utilities leadership and gain a better understanding of the proposal before any changes take effect.

The Chamber is partnering with New Ulm Public Utilities to provide an opportunity for businesses and residents to learn more about the proposed rate changes and ask questions. The program is free, but registration is requested for planning purposes. To register, visit www.newulm.com, call the Chamber at 507-233-4300, or email chamber@newulm.com. Those unable to attend are encouraged to submit comments or questions to New Ulm Public Utilities by email at UtilityRates@NewUlmMN.gov.

Starting at $4.65/week.
