•Thursday, July 30 is New Ulm National Night Out in German Park from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Local food trucks and ice cream will be available, along with games and entertainment for the whole family. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Hobo Band at 7 p.m. Concerts are free and made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

•The last Municipal Band Concert of the season Wednesday, July 29 at 7 p.m. in German Park.

•Special make up Concert will be held in German Park, 7 p.m. Monday August 3 at German Park. featuring musician Tim Fast, an award-winning Minnesota native folk singer.

•Special Rec on the Go at Jefferson Elementary School, Tuesday, August 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. There will be gaga ball pit and the bounce house set up, along with kanjam, bucket golf, cornhole, color pages and more.

•2026 United Way Stuff the Backpack is a program to assist families with new backpacks and school supplies for kids. Donations for this program can be dropped off at the Welcome Desk in the SouthPoint Recreation and Wellness Center during normal business hours. The United Way is also looking for volunteers to help stuff backpacks. For more information on volunteering, please call 507-354-6512.

•Hermann 5k Run/walk and Kids Obstacle Course will take place Saturday, September 12. The run starts at 9 a.m. and obstacle course at 10 a.m., all at Harman Park. Early bird pricing is available now through August 12. Register online at newulmmn.gov

•North Park Splash Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through September 7.

•Wading Pools Open daily from 12:30 to 6 p.m. through August 16. The spray and toys at Washington Park need to remain off for the remainder of the summer due to mechanical problems.
