2026 NU Farmers Market returns June 11

NEW ULM – The New Ulm Farmes Market return Thursday, June 11 at the River Bend Education District parking lot at 1315 S. Broadway Street.

The markets are held Thursdays, 2:30-5:30pm (June 11 – August 27), and Saturdays, 9am-12pm (June 13 – October 10). Vendors are currently being accepted; anyone interested in being a vendor should contact the New Ulm Area Chamber.

The New Ulm Farmers Market will feature live music at every market as well as additional kids’ activities at certain markets throughout the season. Four Farm-to-Fun Days will have more family-friendly activities. These dates are June 20, July 11, August 22, and September 12. To see a schedule of expected activities, check our website newulm.com/farmersmarket. This schedule is subject to change due to weather and inventory considerations. The live music and occasional other arts activities are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

To help support food assistance programs and to help make fresh, local foods accessible to everyone in the community, the New Ulm Farmers Market offers free transportation to the markets (via Hermann Express and Heartland Express), as well as free runner services at every market to help carry purchases to customers’ vehicles.

The New Ulm Farmers Market will also continue accepting Sun Bucks as well as SNAP/EBT payment cards in the 2026 season. SNAP is the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program which enables people on fixed incomes to extend their food dollars. The New Ulm Farmers Market, like other area farmers markets, is able to accept SNAP cards to buy fresh, locally grown produce, fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs and other protein, baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, and all foods that are SNAP-eligible at grocery stores.

SNAP card holders can triple their SNAP/EBT dollars at the Farmers Market. EBT/Snap dollars (up to $10) will be met dollar-for-dollar in Market Bucks as well as Market Produce Bucks, to be used to increase their buying power.

Market Bucks are provided by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to support local food producers and sellers, and to ensure that all people have access to nutritious, locally grown and made foods, regardless of income.

Details on SNAP/EBT and Market Bucks, as well as a list of what items are eligible for purchase with these dollars, are available at the Farmers Market and at www.newulm.com/farmersmarket. The card reader is located at the Market Manager’s booth at each Farmers Market event. Shoppers wishing to use their SNAP/EBT cards should stop at the Market Manager’s booth prior to shopping to swipe their card and receive their tokens and Market Bucks which can then be used at various Farmers Market vendors.
