Ruth Klossner to receive Sertoma’s Service to Mankind Award

NEW ULM – The Sertoma Club of New Ulm will hold its annual Service to Mankind Award Banquet Monday.

This year’s recipient of the Service to Mankind Award is Ruth Klossner.

Klossner has served with many organizations Brown and Nicollet County. Klossner has been heavily involved in the New Ulm Farm-City Hub Club, serving as club secretary. She is active at Bernadotte Lutheran Church and Fields of Grace Parish; Lafayette Lions Club, Nicollet County 4-H Federation, Nicollet American Legion Auxiliary, Nicollet County Holstein Association, Connecting Nicollet County Leadership Program, Minnesota Holstein Association, Minnesota 4-H program and National 4-H Dairy Conference.

Klossner is probably best known as “The Cow Lady” for her Guinness Book of World Record winning collection of cow-related items. She displays the collection at her home in Bernadotte, which is affectionately known as the Moo-Seum.

Sertoma Club of New Ulm will formally honor Klossner during its annual banquet held at the New Ulm Country Club, Monday May 18. The banquet social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. The program honoring Klossner begins at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $30 and are available at the New Ulm Chamber.
