NEW ULM – The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce visited 209 Pub & Grill to celebrate new ownership under Becky and Nick Portner, a mother-son team continuing a well-loved local tradition.

Formerly known as the Lamplighter, the business relocated across the street following the 2022 fire and reopened quickly with strong support from the community. Today, Becky and Nick carry that legacy forward – backed by decades of combined experience between ownership and staff – while maintaining the same familiar atmosphere, menu favorites, and commitment to quality, including the popular Saturday rib special.

With one of the largest menus in town and a focus on made-to-order food, 209 Pub & Grill continues to be a popular gathering spot in New Ulm. That strong connection to the community is reflected in features like their Burger of the Month, inspired by both customer and staff suggestions, as well as a planned motorcycle run later this summer with 100% of proceeds going back to support the community.
