LWV plans Neighborhood Walkabouts

The League of Women Voters (LVW), in cooperation with the New Ulm Tree Commission, is planning informational “Neighborhood Walkabouts”.

The walkabouts will be scheduled in different New Ulm neighborhoods during the first few weeks of June. They will be open to everyone. Each will involve eight blocks of walking, beginning and ending at the same location.

A tree commissioner will lead each walk, explaining identification, the right trees for various soil types, location, size, etc. Information on branching, pruning, watering, damage, etc will be given. There should also be time for questions.

All ages are welcome; however children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Walking will be on sidewalks, and we expect the walk will last about an hour. People may join, or leave, the walk at any time.

There is no charge, no pre-registration, and everyone is welcome at any, or all, of the walks. Please listen to KNUJ on the day of each walk in case of weather-related cancellation.

Watch the Journal the end of May/early June for dates, times, and specific locations. Any questions, please call 641-436-0176.

Starting at $4.50/week.
