NEW ULM – NUHS's Knowledge Bowl teams had a strong showing in the Region 9AAA Tournament on Thursday, March 14 in Mankato.
Thirty-eight teams from New Ulm, Mankato East, Mankato West, Owatonna, Fairmont, St. Peter, TCU, and Jordan competed for a chance to advance to the state tournament. The top two teams in the tournament advance. New Ulm High School placed five teams in the top ten of the tournament with New Ulm Purple (1st) and New Ulm Ivory (2nd) advancing to the State Tournament at Cragun's Resort in Brainard on April 11th and 12th.
Jordan Maroon placed third, NU Maroon placed 4th, and Mankato West Saturated placed 5th. This is the third time in school history that New Ulm has qualified two teams for the state tournament in the same year.
