NEW ULM -- The New Ulm Suzuki School of Music, in partnership with Lykke Books, invites families and community members to its annual Spooky Suzuki - Party and Play Down 4 p.m., Monday, October 26,. at Lykke Books.

For the first time, this festive Halloween tradition will be open to the public, offering families an opportunity to experience the creativity, joy, and musical talents of local Suzuki students.

A highlight will be a special musical storytelling performance. Guests will experience The Halloween Story brought to life through narration by a Suzuki violin instructor, accompanied by spooky sounds and live music performed by Suzuki students. The interactive-style performance offers an introduction to how young musicians use their instruments to create atmosphere, express emotion, and tell a story through music.

Children are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy a hands-on Halloween craft, along with a treat.

The event also provides an opportunity for families interested in music education to learn more about the Suzuki Method and the programs offered through the New Ulm Suzuki School of Music. Based on the philosophy that every child can develop musical ability in a nurturing and encouraging environment, the Suzuki approach emphasizes listening, parental involvement, and learning music from an early age.
