NEW ULM - The electromechanical division of Parker located in New Ulm is officially closing.

New Ulm's Parker division, located at 2101 N. Broadway, is currently responsible for the company’s electronic controls and motion (ECM) division. Last week, employees in New Ulm were informed that Parker Hannifin was consolidating operations at its facilities and that the ECM division would be moving to another North American Parker facility.

Manufacturing and assembly operations will continue in New Ulm until all product lines are fully transferred to their new ECM Division locations by the end of May 2027, after which the New Ulm facility will be closed. The facility currently employs approximately 70 team members.

Aidan Gormley, Director of Parker's Global Communications and Branding, said the decision to move the department was made to maintain our competitiveness while continuing to provide premier customer service.

Gormely said Parker is committed to easing the transition for all affected team members by providing severance pay, continuation of benefits, outplacement support and other service offerings.

Parker is a manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems with 300 manufacturing plants worldwide. Their products are used in industrial, mobile and aerospace markets. The New Ulm division was responsible for manufacturing servo motors, gearheads, and gearmotors.
