NU man faces sex charges
Accusations date back to 2000-2007
NEW ULM — A 51-year-old New Ulm man was arrested Friday after her 38-year-old stepdaughter reported in June that she was allegedly sexually assaulted by him between 2000 and 2004.
Travis Jason Leskey of New Ulm was transported to the Brown County Jail without incident at 1:59 p.m. Friday.
According to court documents, the victim came to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center on June 29, 2026 to report an alleged sexual assault by Leskey while she was growing up in Brown County.
The woman said she lived with her mother and Leskey when she was 12 to 13 years old when she accused Leskey of looking at her while she showered through a roof skylight window only when nobody else was home. The woman said she was embarrassed and would not shower or finish showering when she saw Leskey looking at her.
The woman said Leskey would exposure himself her when she would walk into the kitchen and say “I showed you mine, now you show me your’s,” then laugh. The woman said she would turn around and go to her bedroom and said the incident happened five to ten times.
The woman said Leskey would regularly grab her sexually in passing in the residence, which she said disturbed her.
In 2007, the woman said the family moved to another Brown County residence where she lived for about six months, but often returned to visit and stay overnight. She said for three or four years, she found find Leskey looking through windows at her.
The woman said over the years before she talked to authorities about it, she buried it all and pretended it didn’t happen. She said she didn’t tell anyone earlier because she felt no one would believe her, then shame her for letting it go on so long, which she said had a significant impact on her adult life.
Leskey faces two felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges-significant relationship-victim under 16, one felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct-victim under 13, more than 36 months older than the victim; plus gross misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct-lewd exhibition-in the presence of a minor under age 16, indecent exposure in presence of a minor and interfere with privacy against a minor under 16.
