ISD 88 Foundation launches community endowment drive
NEW ULM – Independent School District (ISD) 88 Foundation is calling on the New Ulm community to invest in the future of local education through its growing Endowment Fund — a long-term financial resource designed to sustain support for New Ulm Public Schools for generations to come.
Currently valued at approximately $650,000, the ISD 88 Foundation Endowment serves as a permanent investment fund that generates annual earnings to support the mission to “enhance education” for all New Ulm Public Schools students and staff.
Recently, The ISD 88 Foundation Board of Directors voted to invest an additional $10,000 into the fund as part of its long-term growth strategy.
The goal is to grow the endowment fund to $1 million.
The ISD 88 Foundation allocates approximately $10,000 annually toward classroom grants and $1,000 toward scholarships that support students and educators across the district. Over the past two years of grant cycles, total grant requests submitted by educators have surpassed $20,000, showing a need within classrooms and the continued demand for innovative educational opportunities-along with funding.
As the endowment grows, so does the ability to provide increased amounts for classroom grants, student scholarships, innovative educational opportunities, and increased operational support that strengthens the overall mission.
Building the endowment creates long-term stability and ensures continued investment in students, support for educators, and responsiveness to future educational needs in New Ulm for decades to come.
Community members, businesses, alumni, and supporters are encouraged to contribute to the endowment fund and become part of this lasting legacy.
