Nobody files for New Ulm Ward 3 seat yet

NEW ULM -- Nobody has filed for the New Ulm City Council Ward 3 seat as of late Friday.

Les Schultz currently holds the Ward 3 seat but has not filed for office yet. Nobody else has either.

"I'm still on the fence," Schultz said Friday.

New Ulm City Councilors Andrea Boettger and David Christian re-filed for councilor-at-large and Ward 1 seats respectively. Both are incumbents. They are the only candidates to file so far.

Brown County District 1 Commissioner David Borchert and District 3 Commissioner Scott A. Windschitl are incumbents. They filed for election again and have no opposition as of Friday.

Mark Wellner of Sanborn filed for the Brown County Soil and Water Supervisor (BSWCS) District 4 seat Friday. Nobody else filed for the seat as of Friday.

Brad Augustin of Comfrey is the only individual to file for the BSWCS District 2 seat so far.

The BSWCS District 1 seat is also open. Nobody has filed for election yet.

Candidates interested in running for any of the offices must file an affidavit of candidacy prior to 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 4.

Candidates for a county seat must filed at the Brown County Courthouse.

City council candidates must file at city hall.
