Community Family Fair offers fun and info on early childhood

NEW ULM — Hundreds of people participated in activities and learned about early childhood development, park and recreation activities and other information at the New Ulm Community Family Fair at the New Ulm Civic Center Saturday.

Brown County Human Services distributed information geared for children from birth through second grade from the Help Me Grow Initiative.

New Ulm Park & Recreation listed a number of free activities including Thursday night German Park concerts from June 6 through Aug. 29. Music begins at 7 p.m. Entertainment features the Concord Singers, Ulmer Quartet, Off The Strings, Leonardo, the Wendinger Band, Schell’s Hobo Band, Ken & Ken Show, Mages Family Band, Misfits, and others to be arranged.

Puppet wagon weekly shows begin on Tuesdays and Thursdays June 11-July 25.

Wading pools at Lincoln and Washington Parks from 12:30 to 6 p.m. open daily May 31 to Aug. 18.

The North Park Splash Pad, on the Franklin St. side of North Park, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

New Ulm Recreation Center open swimming will be open 1-6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 11 a.m.m to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Membership/daily fees are required.
