REDWOOD COUNTY — The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the deceased man found inside a vehicle on the Minnesota River, Friday.

Thaddeus Lorenz, 30, of Auburn was found dead inside a vehicle that had crashed onto the Minnesota River. The Sheriff’s Office also clarified the vehicle operated by Lorenz had not broken through the ice.

The Sheriff’s Office was alerted a vehicle was on the Minnesota River near Belview around 11 a.m. Jan. 19. Upon arrival, the Deputies found a deceased male inside the vehicle, later identified as Lorenz.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is still determining the cause of death.
