MADELIA -- Construction on Highways 15/60 near Madelia is complete and traffic restrictions are removed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Seven miles of highway from an interchange south of Madelia to an interchange north of Madelia were resurfaced during the two-year project. Work on the $24,988,466 project included concrete pavement overlay, updated lighting at the south TH 15/Hwy 60 and CR3 interchanges, drainage repairs, updated guardrail and bridge rehabilitation.

"I'm glad that all our interchanges are open. All but one of them were closed at one time," said Madelia Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karla Angus.

Now, everybody can come to Madelia's fall events without detours or head-to-head road configurations.

Project benefits included improved pavement and drainage, smoother road surfaces and increased corridor safety. Hoffmann Construction Company was the prime contractor.
