“The Misfits” take the stage at the Community Center for the Music in the Park event.

NEW ULM — Sun shined through the windows of the community center on Monday evening as “The Misfits” peformed a special two hour long concert for the Music in the Park event.

The location was changed to the community center due to weather uncertainty, but that did not prevent a crowd.

People piled into the Community Center as “The Misfits” performed their show. More and more chairs had to be wheeled in to seat all of the attendees who arrived during the concert.

“The Misfits” played a variety of classic country songs, including “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” by John Denver, and “Last Kiss” by Wayne Cochran.

Next week’s Music in the Park event will return to German Park next week and feature “Chris and Chris.”
