20-year-old woman dies in rural Sleepy Eye crash

SLEEPY EYE -- A 20-year-old woman died of injuries received in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday in Stark Township, several miles south of Sleepy Eye.

Adrianna M. Aguilar, a vehicle passenger, was pronounced dead at the crash scene, reported at 2:45 a.m., near the intersection of Brown County Road 22 and 220th Avenue, according to a Brown County Sheriff's Office news release.

Sergio Andres Rangel, 22 of Sleepy Eye was driving a vehicle westbound on CR 22, approaching 220th Avenue when he entered the south ditch, hit a utility pole and rolled multiple times. Rangel was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from a hospital.

Other vehicle passengers, Mateo Armandi Rangel, 2; and Kehlani Marie Rangel, 7 mos., were not injured.

Sleepy Eye Ambulance and Allina Ambulance, the New Ulm Fire Department and Minnesota State Patrol assisted.

The crash is being investigated by the Brown County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol.
