SLEEPY EYE — A comical murder mystery takes stage at Sleepy Eye Brewing Co. June 21-23.

“Clue On Stage,” based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, written by Sandy Rustin is based on the Paramount Pictures motion picture and the Hasbro board game “Clue.”

Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 5:30 p.m. Showtime is 6 p.m. each day. A late show begins at 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 23.

“Clue is a hilarious farce meets murder mystery that will leave fans and newcomers trying to figure out who did it, where and with what?,” said Sleepy Eye Community Theater President George Hirschboeck.

The story begins at a remote mansion where six mysterious guests meet for an unusual dinner party with murder and blackmail on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects.

“After a very successful production of “West Side Story” last summer, the Sleepy Eye Community Theater board was shooting for a different feel this the community. We landed on “Clue: On Stage” to be performed in the new taproom at Sleepy Eye Brewing Co.” said director Bailey Rutscher.

“We want the audience to feel like they are exploring the mansion with the characters by having a very immersive feel. This experienced cast is ready to show you all what they have been working so hard on since April,” Rutscher added. “A big challenge that came along with choosing a show that is a different venue is the limited practice time that we had at the Pix (Sleepy Eye Brewery). We had a total of 10 out of our 45 practices there so our time their was very valuable. We have cast and crew members from Sleepy Eye and New Ulm so it really brings the communities together.”
