NEW ULM-- The New Ulm Craft and Vendor Events (NUCVE) organization held its second Shop the Lot event in the City Hall parking lot Saturday.

The event ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and featured a wide variety of shops. NUCVE board member James Haviland described the different types of vendors.

"Crafters, Mary Kay, lemonade stand, woodworking, and there's a lady who makes her own oils." Haviland said. "Good mix of people and products."

Haviland also manned the hot dog stand. This stand is commonly used by NUCVE to raise money for good causes. The previous month's Shop a Lot raised money for the American Legion as part of Military Appreciation month.

For this Shop the Lot, all hot dog sales will be split between the New Ulm Police Department, Fire Department, and Allina Health.

Kelly Anderson, owner of Kelly's Kraftwerk, believes that the people are the best part of Shop the Lot.

"Seeing all the people. Seeing people I haven’t seen for a while and having conversations about anything and everything." Anderson said.

The NUCVE are also celebrating 10 years of bringing events to New Ulm.

The next Shop the Lot will be held July 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Mobile Food Shelf is the next theme and they will be there to take food donations.

For more information, Haviland recommends the N.U. Craft & Vendor Events Facebook group or going to www.nucve.org. "Anything they want to know they can look on there and if they have questions, they can reach out to us." Haviland said
