MARSHALL — Visit Marshall announced Monday that the multi-platinum Eli Young Band will be headlining this year’s Prairie Jam concert.

Prairie Jam will be held Sept. 21 at the Schwan’s Regional Event Center at the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University. It will be the Eli Young Band’s first concert in Marshall.

“We are thrilled to headline Prairie Jam and to celebrate Marshall, and it’s only fitting that the band, formed by friends on a college campus at the University of North Texas, takes the stage at SMSU,” said Mike Eli of EYB. “Our new music is full of energy and full of life and what better place to be than on a college campus honoring our roots.”

The Eli Young Band has had four No. 1 hits, including “Crazy Girl,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” “Love Ain’t,” and “Drunk Last Night.” Their newest album, “Love Talking,” was released last year.

The opening act at this year’s Prairie Jam will be Royale Lynn, Visit Marshall announced. A Nashville-based artist and songwriter, Royale Lynn has found viral success online, with millions of views across several social media platforms.

Concert organizers are looking forward to having Prairie Jam return.

“Visit Marshall is excited to bring this event back for a second year,” said Visit Marshall director Cassi Weiss.

“Last year we saw great economic impact to the community, and we strive to increase the economic impact in year two.”

Last year’s inaugural concert featuring Tyler Farr and Whiskey Rich sold thousands of tickets, Visit Marshall said.

Tickets for this year’s Prairie Jam will go on sale Thursday, with prices starting at $25, Visit Marshall said. More information can be found online at visitmarshallmn.com/prairie-jam.

Starting at $4.50/week.
