Author to speak at Library Monday

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Public Library and Community Ed are partnering for a series of presentations called “Hope and Healing in Grief” to bring awareness, resources, and hope to those grieving and people who care about them.

There will be four presentations, each with a separate topic and speaker. The series started in March. The second presentation will be on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the library and is titled “Losing Little Ones.” The presente is Ann Vote.

Ann is an educator and motivational speaker. She struggled with miscarriages and infertility before bringing two babies into the world. She will be speaking from personal experience about the grief that accompanies loss in early pregnancy. This grief is often suffered in silence or alone. She says, “I know there are others who have lost babies to miscarriage. I don’t want to hide that this is a piece of me.” Ann is a member of Mamas on a Mission, which successfully brought the Angel Monument space to the New Ulm City Cemetery. This group is dedicated to supporting families who have suffered pregnancy and young child loss.
