Farm bill listening session in Sleepy Eye April 4

SLEEPY EYE — Minnesota Farmers Union and Brown County Farmers Union are hosting a Farm Bill Listening Session with a representative from Senator Tina Smith’s office on Tuesday, April 4 at 1 p.m.. It will be held at the Sleepy Eye Coffee Company, 121 Main Street West.

Julia Wickham is the Agriculture, Energy, and Environment Outreach Director for Smith. Smith is a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. They are working on the 2023 Farm Bill, a once every five-year update, which has large impacts on our nation’s food security and nutrition.

Wickham will report on current progress towards writing the Farm Bill and take comments from the public. Attendees are invited to share their thoughts and to bring any written comments they want to share with Smith’s office.

Lunch is available at the Coffee Company beforehand. The Listening Session will be held in the new addition, to the left when you come in.
