The Lions Club of New Ulm awarded two Helen Keller awards at their March 9th meeting. Monica Buboltz , pictured left, received the award for her many dedicated years to the Lions sponsored "Low Vision Project" at the New Ulm Public Library. This project provides free magnifying equipment and tools to people with low vision free of charge. Diann Warta, center, received her award due to her 16 years of dedication to the club, serving as president twice and for serving on the board of directors for many of those years. She is always willing to help with our many projects. The award is named after the famous blind and deaf woman, Helen Keller, who in 1925, challenged Lions Clubs to be "Knights of the Blind".
