NEW ULM — New Ulm's 4th Ward will continue to be represented by Councilor Larry Mack.
Mack was elected to a third term Tuesday after facing a close challenge from Michelle Markgraf for the fourth ward council seat.
"I am excited for the opportunity to represent Ward 4," Mack said in response to his re-election.
His goal for his third term is to complete work on the city's comprehensive plan. With his re-election to the council he is excited to see this project through.
Mack acknowledged the election between him and Markgraf was close. He won by 83 votes. Mack was pleased that it was clean election and there was no bad blood between him and Markgraf.
Mack looks forward to working with the city council for the next four years. He believes the council has worked well together as a team and will accomplish a lot.
Mack was first elected to the New Ulm City Council in November 2014. He was re-elected for a second term in 2018. Mack will start his third term as Ward 4 councilor in January 2023.
