SSTC to host U.S. Army’s ‘Jazz Ambassadors’ and ‘A Very Diva Christmas’

NEW ULM -- State Street Theater in New Ulm is pleaseS to host several events live on the State Street stage this fall.

First up, join the U.S. Army "Jazz Ambassadors" to hear the military's finest practitioners of jazz and swing. The Army's official touring big band, this 19-member jazz ensemble has received widespread acclaim at home and abroad, earning the Jazz Ambassadors the title "America's Big Band". The Jazz Ambassadors perform Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Though this concert is free and open to the public, a ticket is required to enter.

Next, State Street Theater will welcome "The Divas" back to their main stage. In 2021, these brilliantly talented singers presented their show "Divas through the Decades," delighting an audience of 400 people. This year, on Saturday, Nov. 5, they return to spark some festive spirit with "A Very Diva Christmas", performing time-honored holiday hits from classic artists such as Bing Crosby, the Jackson 5, the Andrews Sisters, and many more. Looking to get your Christmas cheer started ahead of the concert? Along with a selection of wine and beers, the SSTC bar will be offering a Cranberry Spritzer once doors open at 5:45 p.m.. Then, at 6:45 p.m., the festivities kick off with a brief Style Show, followed by the concert, which begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at Hy-Vee, New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, and online at statestreetnewulm.org. Theater box office is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m., parking lot located on the corner of Washington and Center Streets. SSTC asks that patrons avoid parking in the Emerson Union Apartments lot.
